Use this form to calculate your quantities

Cement/Sand/Aggregate Mixes

To work out the volume for sand/concrete in an area 8' x 4' x 4" thick

convert to metric = 2.4 x 1.2 x 0.1=0.288m3 or 600kg material approximately.

Rendering

Sand and Cement per m3

Mix required:1 : 5 Portland Cement : Sand

1 : 1/2 : 41/2 Portland Cement : Lime : Sand

12.5mm thick will give 50m2 per m3 approximately

19.0mm thick will give 38m2 per m3 approximately

24.5mm thick will give 25m2 per m3 approximately

Mortar Mix

for year round use including winter bricklaying:

Brickwork below dpc level

1 : 4 Portland Cement : Sand with Plasticiser

External Walls

1 : 5-6 Portland Cement : Sand with Plasticiser

Alternative mixes which may be used when there is not risk of frost during bricklaying.

Brickwork below DPC level

1 : 5-6 Portland Cement : Sand with Plasticiser

or 1 : 1 : 6 Portland Cement : Lime : Sand

External Walls

1 : 1 : 5-6 Portland Cement : Lime : Sand

or 1 : 41/2 Masonry Cement : Sand

Plastering

Coverage per 50kg bag

Carlite Browning= 7m2 at 11mm thick

Carlite Bonding = 7.5m2 at 8mm thick

Carlite Finish = 22.5m2 at 2mm thick

Bricks

In a m2 = 62 number in a yd2 = 50 number

Blocks

18" x 9"x 4" = 10 number per m2 18" x 9" x 4" = 8 number per yd2

Slates

600mm x 300mm Duchess = 13.3 per m2 500mm x 250mm Countess = 20 per m2

Corrugated Sheeting
